When warranted and in the interest of the County, department heads may assign employees to “on call” status. Compensation for “on call” duty shall be computed as follows:

(1) Employees shall be paid Four Dollars and Forty Cents ($4.40) per hour for time in which they are required to be in an on call status. Effective the first full pay period following Board of Supervisors’ approval of a successor MOU in 2019, employees shall be paid an hourly rate of Five Dollars and forty cents ($5.40) for time in which they are required to be in an on-call status. Employees required to report to work during offduty hours when in an oncall status shall not receive “oncall” pay while receiving overtime pay.

(2) Employees in an OnCall status (except Sewer Crew) required to report back shall be compensated for a minimum of two (2) hours for the first call back of a shift. Subsequent call backs shall be paid for actual time worked. Sewer Crew employees in an On-Call status required to report back shall be compensated for a minimum of one (1) hour for the first call back of a shift. Subsequent call backs shall be paid for actual time worked.
